Iron Fist is often considered to be a not so good album. At the time they were very succesful, NSTH had reached no 1 in the UK charts and they had to follow this succes in some way. They started of with Vic Maile producing at the end of 1981 but for various reasons this did not work out and they had to find a new producer. But they did not. Instead Eddie got to producing it but the result was not what the band really wanted. In various interviews they have also said that they did not have enough time to get the songs right, half the songs were not finnished when they recorded them. But Bronze wanted the album to be released so they had to hurry.

Personally I still think this is one of their best albums, maybe because it was my second Motorhead album I got, the first being NSTH.

There are some very interesting releases of this album, amongst others the Metal Cast in the shape of a fist that Castle released in 1994 with a gold CD. (For a while a listed a Saudi Arabia vinyl but that was a mistake, there is no Saudi Arabia vinyl but there is a cassette with no IMD 7978, donīt know where that one was made).
